Compatability Work-Around & Spreadsheet Update

Just a quick note to let folks know that a few more distros may prove to be compatable with Chromebooks. In particular, distros that refused to be installed on GPT media or failed to boot from such media, can be installed to media with an (old & archaic) MBR-style partition table.  Then, the rootfs partition can be cloned to (new & improved) GPT media.  I haven't had time to do much with this yet, but I did manage to get Fedora 19 booted & working with this method.

    1. Fedora 17 worked out of the box, if memory serves. Install it like you would anywhere else, just use partition #7 on media created with my toolbox. Once you get it working on USB, it can be cloned to the HDD easily.

    1. No idea, but depending on the level of similarity between RH & Fedora (IDK about that either), I'd say the odds are pretty good.

  4. I don't know about Manjaro specifically, but I was able to boot 2 Arch Linux derivatives - ArchBang & Bridge Linux. However, neither distro was able to connect to wireless even though the hardware was working. So, my guess would be that you'll have to deal with that issue.
